Michael Stein helps raise homelessness awareness with 'The Guitar Player'
As some of you know, homelessness is being touched in my upcoming novel; for that, I'd like to pay my respects to filmmaker Michael Stein and his new film 'The Guitar Player'. This new Michael Stein film features the story of a homeless guitar player who gets another chance in life but still, he faces struggles with his troubled past. According to sfgate.com, Michael Stein is giving out tarps across the United States at homeless shelters in colder climate in order to prevent hypothermia.

Reading the article on R&B singer Kem really touched my heart! Kem, who at some point in his life became homeless, offered a concert in Detroit last Sunday in order to raise awareness on homelessness. As many of you know, homelessness is one of the topics touched in my novel! Read more below this image:

Kem offered the free concert in Cass Park and reportedly thousands of attendees were there to see him and other singers too! That was a really extraordinary, kind, and inspiring from Kem. Hopefully we'll be able to see more and more homeless awareness events in the future! Check out these homelessness statistics / homelessness facts published by  freep.com:

Connecticut Stand Down 2010! Photo:www.ct.gov

Good morning everyone! I found this very interesting post on Patch.com  but it applies mostly to those who live in Connecticut, so if you can please share this link on your social media profile it would be great! As most of you know, homelessness and other life events are topics being touched in the novel.  As I work on finishing the book, one of my favorite activities is to help create awareness of different events that support good causes! Well this time, I'd like to talk about the Stand Down 2011!

The Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs  will be holding the Stand Down 2011 event in September, and today they need your help! Stand Down 2011 helps homeless and veterans in need, so what a great way for those who can, make a difference in their lives! They will be collecting items such as toothpaste, soap, shampoo, disposable razors, underwear, and some more! For the complete list and instructions   visit this link. Items will be collected until August 29th! Don't forget to check out more exciting links on the right side of this blog!
