UNF will observe the Domestic Violence Awareness Month with 'Take Back the Night'!
The Women's Center at the University of Florida (UNF) will be observing the Domestic Violence Awareness Month 2011 with an event called: Take Back the Night on October 4, 2011 at 7pm. It's actually free of cost!
The Domestic Violence Awareness Month event will begin with a march at the Student Union and it will end with a candle lightning ceremony and a speak-out session. As some of you know, my upcoming novel is dedicated to also raise domestic violence awareness! The purpose of the Take Back the Night  Domestic Violence Awareness Month event is to bring everyone together in an effort to raise domestic violence awareness, honor domestic violence survivors, and to give a chance to those who want to speak out and share their story. If you'd like more information you can contact Chantell Waters at (904) 620-2528 or at [email protected].

Illinois mom Shannon Wilfong pleaded guilty on Monday on five misdemeanors for hiding her son in crawl space for nearly two years during a custody battle (topic touched in my novel), according to the Huffington Post. But what's even more disturbing about this Shannon Wilfong case is that Shannon Wilfong will only spend two years of probation without more jail time! The boy was found back in 2009, when he was only 6 years old.

Shannon Wilfong was sentenced to:
  • $1,500 in fines and 30 days in jail - But the judge already credited her for time served.
  • $100 on each of the remaining counts (Total: $400). That's it! These counts were related to unlawful interference with child visitation.
Michael Chekevdia (Shannon Wilfong one time boyfriend) has been granted custody of the little boy, who just turned 9 last week! Read more.

Where are Abhishek Singh, Purasharth Pandey, Rishikesh Singh and Girish? What is happening in colleges?
A poor student was forced to act as a stripper. Where are Abhishek Singh, Purasharth Pandey, Rishikesh Singh and Girish? Shame on you! According to www.ndtv.com, 4 students from a Uttar Pradesh University in Northern India forced another student to act as a stripper, by ordering him to remove all of his clothes and consume liquor, as police released today. And not only that, on top of everything, they also committed physical abuse against the poor kid. Now one thing is to feel forced to become a stripper due to your own life circumstances but to be forced to act as a stripper is just unacceptable! Check out what happens in my novel: Does the character feel forced to become a stripper? Was she forced to become a stripper? We will be able to find out soon! The four of them are now being wanted and their names are:
Abhishek Singh, Purasharth Pandey, Rishikesh Singh and Girish. What a shame ladies and gentlemen. And guess what? They are all enrolled in their 3rd B.A. year at Bundelkhand University in Jhansi district! I hope they get caught really soon. There is medical evidence people! The name of the poor victim is Rituraj Kumar, a 1st year B.A. student.

Legal corporal punishment is becoming a joke in Florida.
Did this title disturb your mind? Well it should not do so 'cause last Friday an appellate Florida court ruled corporal punishment as an acceptable way to punish your children when not used in excess (Read more)! The ruling cites common law and a 2002 Florida Supreme Court  that says that reasonable corporal punishment can be used against anyone who tries to charge you with domestic violence! Don't worry, just say in court that you didn't do it in excess and you'll be fine, if that is your case. It's going to be fun to see how many more abusers will keep getting away with domestic violence. Great news! Oh wait a minute. That's not so great news. Well guess what? Now you can spank a child non excessively anywhere in Florida and even show other parents how to do it! So parents in Florida: you're welcome to non excessively spank, and punish your children physically anywhere around their bodies but not in excess and even in front of their friends (I think), so remember that! You won't be charged with domestic violence even if your child feels excessively humiliated and will obviously also be emotionally affected for the rest of their lives. Seriously Florida: what's next? Oh, I hope the ruling also states that it's totally legal to take pictures of parents spanking their kids and post them online. Sick.

Hello amazing readers! I'm hoping that everyone is having an amazing week! I really wanted to talk to you about Express jeans! So the whole thing goes like this: Me and one of my besties go yesterday to the mall and we got hungry really fast  so we decided to grab some chinese food at the food court. We started chatting about some of the best sites that sell women's jeans! Out of the blue a girl sitting at a table next to us jumps over to our table and tells us that she knew of a great website that sell women's jeans! She wrote down the address of the website on a small piece of paper and gave it to me.

So as soon as I got back to my apartment I sat in front of my laptop and checked out the website. It turned out to be Express jeans! They got the most beautiful wide leg jeans, flare jeans, and jean leggings! There are so many fashionable trends to look at ! Imagine wearing a beautiful pair of colored jeans in gray! Has anyone ever threatened to take your child away from you , according to your judgment, as a revenge?
Custody battles are born under many different circumstances, but one of the saddest ones is when the challenging parent threatens his/her partner or spouse with taking the children away from the other parent. A lot of the times these types of custody battles emerge from a split or simply an unwanted break up, because either the challenging parent does not want a divorce or he/she  just can't get over a break up and sometimes because he/she is jealous about your present love life. Another really unfortunate circumstance is when one of the grandparents threatens to do so as well, just because he/she is very protective over their son/daughter (check this example). When custody battles are based on revenge, that's when you ought to know that in many of these cases, the challenging adult is capable of doing anything, because they know that taking a child from you can hurt you the most. Even though there's no law that protects you from custody battles based on revenge because they're so hard to prove, you know how to spot them, especially if you're going through one. As a matter of fact, I really have a lot more to say about custody battles based on revenge when you read my novel. You'll be shocked to know how sometimes innocent parents are trapped in a prison composed of harassment and threats. See everything through the eyes of Elizabeth soon. Feel free to share your story!

Judge Judith Gische
Are you kidding me? So Judge Judith Gische from New York has decided in a 21 page ruling that due to a lack of funding available, the Advantage Program in NYC can definitely be terminated. This program provides rent subsidies to help homeless people transition from emergency shelters in NCY. Now I think I can pull out a sneak peek from my novel so you can see where I'm exactly coming from. But before that, let me share with you what the Legal Aid Society attorney Steven Banks thinks about this whole thing, according to Reuters. Attorney Steven Banks believes that  if NYC does end up cutting these rent subsidies, the city can wind up paying even more to shelter those homeless families, after all.

I personally believe that homeless transitional programs are extremely good, and I also think that they could potentially even help reduce crime in the streets. Now, the Legal Aid Society plans on appealing the ruling. Although payments will not stop immediately, still, a decision for now has been made. Let's spread the word and create more awareness on this case! Check out my never before seen unedited and unpolished sneak peek related to this post:

Manny Ramirez arrested for domestic violence.
Manny Ramirez got arrested for domestic violence yesterday in Florida! What really happened between Manny Ramirez and his wife? Well, here's the Manny Ramirez domestic violence story:

Allegedly Manny Ramirez slapped his wife in the face. Apparently it 'caused her head to  bump against the bed headboard. TMZ reports that Manny Ramirez and Juliana were arguing in their bedroom when Manny Ramirez struck the left side of the face of Julianna. And that's how she ended up getting her head hurt when she hit the bed headboard. Julianna immediately called the police, and once the cops arrived to the scene they noticed that Manny Ramirez wife Julianna had a small bruise on the back of her head, and that her face was red and swollen. Of course, there are two sides of this story. Manny Ramirez claims that he shrugged his wife's shoulders, and once he did it, she hit her head against the headboard. Who is lying here? Manny Ramirez was  charged with misdemeanor battery. Now, if Manny Ramirez gets convicted, he could actually be facing up to one year in jail. Surprised? Check out the Manny Ramirez domestic violence police report. Check out also all of my domestic violence postings:
